Paragon Real Estate Equity and Investment Trust is an Over The Counter: Bulletin Board-listed real estate company focused on value-added real estate acquisitions, including, real estate investment and operating companies, and joint venture investments. In addition in early 2008, Paragon began to invest a portion of its available cash in publicly traded shares of real estate investment trusts.

Target acquisitions include properties, portfolios and real estate companies with characteristics such as significant lease-up potential, deferred maintenance, inadequate capital and non-strategic ownership. Paragon adds value by making improvements to optimize a property's value.

This strategy takes full advantage of the Executive Management Team's and the Board's real estate experience. The Executive Management Team has extensive public and private real estate company experience. Paragon has a transparent governance structure with a majority of the Board of Trustees composed of independent members, each with significant experience in the real estate industry.

By implementing our strategic business plan, Paragon has laid a solid foundation that positions the company for growth:

  • During the first half of 2003, Paragon's Executive Management Team was assembled, reuniting a team of experienced business professionals who share a successful history of working together.
  • Shareholders elected five new Trustees so that the Board has a majority of independent members.
  • On June 30, 2003, the holders of our preferred shares consented to waive the dividend that would otherwise have been payable in May 2003 and to eliminate any future dividends that would have been payable under the terms of our preferred shares.
  • Financial controls were instituted to meet the requirements of The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
  • A significant investment was made to restructure the capital base of the existing company platform.

We believe these accomplishments provide the platform to meet our goal: to purchase a critical mass of under-performing multi-family and commercial properties through an acquisition program yielding areturn to investors.
